Josefine, who, during a rushing feast in the Russian legation, has made her acquaintance with the young noble Vanya, is experiencing a tender love-night. But the romance ends tragically; Wanja is hit deadly in a duel. In the attempt to meet Poldi again, the rich but elderly banker Blumenschein meets her in his house. Blumenschein is so enthusiastic by Josefine that he even lets them paint them. When she met Ferdinand, who was inexperienced in love in the painter's workshop, she could not resist the temptation and seduced him. As this “leaping-off” has consequences, she opens the banker to look at father-pleasures. A few months later the banker Blumenschein proudly shows the birth of his daughter “Josefine”...
